ABOUT US

The Hagenaars Family’s Mission Story

The Hagenaars Family is driven by Christian and conservative values. Our goal is to move to El Salvador in the summer 2024 to help empower young girls while raising our own children in a Christian country that has a leader who is moral and has integrity.

Our Core Values

01

Christ

We strive to teach our children to be like Christ and to know that he is in control.  He will show us the way through prayer and our faith in him.

02

Family

Building a loving family environment with positive role models to foster growth and care for our own children and all of God’s children that will live with us.

03

Community

Dedicated to breaking the cycle of child abuse and poverty through compassion and action in El Salvador.  It takes a village to raise a child.

So what are our plans?

We reached out to the Mi Casa Kids orphanage, founded in the 80’s, and spoke with the founder, Bob. He just started a new program called The House of Life Mama and Baby Program in Dec. 2023.

He takes in pregnant girls ages 9-17. He helps them with their physical, medical and spiritual needs as well as schooling and specialized training.  Currently there are 9 girls there now, 3 have had their babies and they stay in his program for about 12-18 months.

This is where we fit into all of this.

We started a corporation in El Salvador in 2023 called Las Tres Gracias, The Three Graces in English, Faith, Hope and Charity.

Our vision is to have a profitable business, like a hotel with a restaurant so that we do not have to rely heavily on donations, I never want to have to turn anyone away.

We are going to partner with Bob and once his girls graduate from his program, we want them to join our program. Our program will provide food, shelter and childcare for the girls and their babies and the girls will be finishing school and working in our apprenticeship program at the business.

If we are able to get a hotel with a restaurant for example, the girls can learn cooking, kitchen management, waitressing, hosting, planning events, catering, managing a hotel, housekeeping, leading the housekeeping team, yard and pool care, leading the grounds keeping team or even bookkeeping, shopping and stocking of supplies. Any and all aspects of being an entrepreneur.

We will also be teaching them English and computer skills. We are hoping that by the time the girls leave our program, which could be 3-4 years depending on their ages, they will have
enough skills in culinary arts, hospitality, English and Computer Science that they will have a variety of employment opportunities
open up for them.

This is just one way that we can help them get out of the abuse and poverty cycle that they might find themselves
in.
