Home » Finding Our rental Home in Bosques de Lourdes, El Salvador
After a couple of weeks of searching for the perfect place to call home in El Salvador, we finally found a rental in Bosques de Lourdes! Nestled in a gated community in Colón, La Libertad, this house offers the security, space, and comfort we need as we transition into our new life.
Our Rental Home Details
We signed a six-month lease to give us time to sell our business in Canada, with the option to renew for as long as we need. Here’s a breakdown of our monthly costs:
- Rent: $565 USD
- Security Guard Fee: $35 USD
- Utilities: Electricity, water, and internet (varies by usage)
For just $600 before utilities, we secured a spacious home in a safe, gated neighborhood, surrounded by beautiful greenery and friendly neighbors.
Our Rental Home Tour: Before the Renovations
The house itself is a work in progress, but we’re excited to share a sneak peek before renovations are complete! The layout includes:
- Spacious living areas with plenty of natural light
- A functional kitchen that will soon be updated
- Comfortable bedrooms perfect for our family
- Outdoor space where we can relax and enjoy the Salvadoran climate
The home is well-built and secure, but we plan to get some more furniture to improve the organization of the space. Stay tuned for the full reveal!
Exploring Bosques de Lourdes
One of the biggest reasons we chose this home was the community. Bosques de Lourdes is a gated neighborhood that offers security, a peaceful environment, and proximity to local markets, stores, and essential services. Some highlights include:
- Access to modern amenities while still being surrounded by nature, including 3 pools and over 6 playgrounds, basketball courts and soccer fields for the children.
- A strong sense of community, with friendly neighbors and a local convenience store
- Easy access to San Salvador and surrounding areas for shopping and entertainment
Our Next Steps
For now, we’re settling into our new space, getting to know our neighbors, and preparing for the transition as we sell our business in Canada. El Salvador is truly feeling like home!
