It might not be glamorous, but after living in a half-finished kitchen for over a year, getting a handmade spice rack felt like a huge win—especially when it’s built from reclaimed wood from our own ceiling! For Mother’s Day, my husband made it happen, and I gave new life to vintage canning jars with kraft brown labels inspired by a Pinterest find. It’s a small step toward a more functional kitchen, but after illness, quarantine, and long work hours, this little project sparked big motivation. Next up: pipe shelves! Stay tuned, things are finally moving again in the kitchen!

After an unexpected year away from the blog, I’m back—with a house full of little ones, foster care adventures, and a miracle baby on the way! From a surprise pregnancy and major home renovations to welcoming multiple foster children, including a newborn and two brothers from a heartbreaking background, life has been beautifully chaotic. Our garden grew, our family grew, and somehow we survived the toddler tornado. With just four days left before maternity leave, I’m ready to embrace the next chapter. This year has changed me, challenged me, and filled my heart in more ways than I ever imagined.
