AGA Cooker Blue

Kitchen Renovation is Back on Track

We started our Kitchen renovation in December 2018 with the busting out of our Kitchen wall to make room for my new AGA Cooker that we bought second hand and was refurbished, it is from the 90’s. It is an amazing stove and I designed my whole kitchen around it all summer for 2018.

Besides knocking down one wall in the Kitchen, we made the opening in the opposite wall bigger and we made the pantry bigger by knocking down our soon-to-be master ensuite bathroom and we removed the ceiling and the other wall down to the studs.

We have found LOTS of surprises along the way including hidden electrical junction boxes and chewed up wiring to sagging joists and compromised structure. So it has been one adventure after another with getting this Kitchen up to code and up to my design. here are some pics of my design.

We had to make a few changes along the way like turning my drawers for the liquor cabinet into a wine cooler and moving my mixer lift over to make room for the septic stack but overall it is going along smoothly.

Check out our videos on YouTube to watch the progress. First we had to start by moving the steps to the family room so that we could move the wall in the kitchen.

The we had to remove the old wall and build a supporting header to hold the second story up.

There are so many video I would suggest that you start with the 2018 playlist near November/December and continue on through the 2019 playlist. We are still not done but we are close!
