A very productive day in the garden

I started out by using the hand mower to get rid of the grass around the trees and where I am going to plant flowers.

Then I planted 4 more plants in my victory garden, I have 6 more left I think.  I also put 4 more bags of mulch down on that garden.  I think it will take 8 or so more.  I bought 15 more bags today after going to or calling up Independent Grocers, Walmart, Home Hardware, Canadian Tire and finally TSC.  I got the black mulch for $4.19 for 2+ cubic feet at TSC.  It was the best price and nearly none of them had black mulch.  We only had one spade shovel and GJ needed it to put down the other 3 beds so I will finish the rest of the plants tomorrow.

I also helped GJ dig the dirt out of the old raised beds and put into the new ones and I put new soil in two of the beds and planted my squashes and watermelons.  I rearranged the pumpkins and put them all together now.  I found one rouge cucumber that got missed the first time so I put it into the cucumber /lettuce bed.  I ringed all of my cucumbers so that they will grow up and not out to save space.

GJ hopes to build the other 4 beds tomorrow and I hope to get the rest planted.  I am not sure if 4 boxes will cover it though.  I have a lot of herbs that I may just pot instead of planting in raised beds.  Oh well must get to bed now.
